๐Ÿ“… April 9, 2025 โ€“ IES Alto Palancia

We concluded our training sessions within the RESILIENT EUROPE project with a dynamic final session full of practical learning, strategic reflection, and future-oriented thinking. This last session focused on the real challenges of wildfire management, climate change adaptation, and the crucial role of youth in building rural resilience.

Throughout the day, participants simulated wildfires in various scenarios and developed defense strategies using the OCELA protocol, learning to act swiftly and in coordination. We explored how vegetation, wind, and soil type influence fire spread and reflected on the landscapeโ€™s role in emergency management.

We also analysed real-life cases, such as the Mati wildfire in Greece and the DANA storms in the Valencian Community, highlighting the urgency of climate adaptation and the need to rethink land use.

The session wrapped up with the presentation of youth-led projects and European opportunities to help young people transform their ideas into concrete actions.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Because building resilience is not only about preparing for wildfiresโ€”it’s about revitalising our rural areas, caring for our forests, and unleashing the potential of new generations.
